Former Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger has officially joined Abigail Breslin (Scream Queens, Little Miss Sunshine) and Debra Messing (Will and Grace) in the upcoming TV musical remake of Dirty Dancing, about to shoot in western North Carolina, near where the classic original film was also made. The new three-hour Dirty Dancing musical event will air on the ABC television network.

The 1987 classic Dirty Dancing is coming to TV for a new reboot of the franchise, but the good news is that production is expected to return to the Lake Lure area of North Carolina, where the original movie was also filmed. The Wilmywood Daily reports that filming could begin as early as April 6 and run through May 28 in the Ashville area, with production offices opening in March.
