Keep It Rolling is a brand new short documentary about the North Carolina film incentive program, released online last week, just as the state’s Legislature considers whether or not to extend the current sunset beyond the end of this year, when the incentives are scheduled to stop, causing productions to stop considering this state as a viable location to shoot their projects. Maria Bello has joined the cast of 'Max Steel', filming in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Dolphin Films and Mattel’s upcoming live action adaptation of the toy franchise Max Steel officially began filming in Wilmington, North Carolina earlier this month, and just today we learned that Maria Bello (Prisoners, Assault on Precinct 13) has joined the cast, presumably playing the titular hero’s mom. Britt Robertson To Take ‘The Longest Ride’ with Nicholas Sparks

Charlotte, North Carolina native and Under the Dome star Britt Robertson will star in the next movie adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks novel, as The Longest Ride prepares to begin filming in Wilmington, North Carolina. Robertson will play Sophia Danko, a college student who falls for a young cowboy in Sparks’ dual-romance saga, according to Deadline. Scott Eastwood (Texas Chainsaw 3D) was announced last week as the male lead, playing the role of the cowboy, Luke Collins, opposite Robertson.

Lauren Graham To Play Mom For MGM’s ‘Max’

MGM Studios, Sunswept Entertainment and Picture 8 Productions is bringing a new family movie inspired by true events to Charlotte, North Carolina, as Max begins filming this month, with director Boaz Yakin (Remember the Titans, Uptown Girls, Safe) set to helm the drama, and Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls, Parenthood, Band Santa) rounding out the cast. Graham will play a mother who has lost her older son while he was serving in Afghanistan and must now heal her traumatized 14-year-old younger son, played by newcomer Josh Wiggins.
