Featuring scenes filmed partially in Charlotte, North Carolina last year, the first official red band (restricted) trailer for the upcoming reboot of National Lampoon’s Vacation has arrived online. Featuring the return of Chevy Chase as Clark Griswold and Beverly D’Angelo as his wife Ellen, the comedy also stars Ed Helms (We’re the Millers) as Rusty Griswold, who decides he wants to take his family, including wife Christina Applegate, on a road trip to the Walley World theme park, like his dad did in the original. EUE / Screen Gems Begins Public Tours of Wilmington Studios

Ever want to tour the sets of hit North Carolina film productions like Sleepy Hollow and Under the Dome? Well you will get your chance starting this weekend when EUE / Screen Gems opens its doors for public tours of the largest film studio on the east coast, located in Wilmington. EUE/Screen Gems Studios in Wilmington announced this week that tours will resume at its production complex beginning this Saturday, April 26.

‘We’re the Millers’ Racks Up 6 MTV Movie Award Nominations

North Carolina productions will have a good presence at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards next month, with We’re the Millers nominated for six awards, along with The Conjuring and Iron Man 3, which also received nominations, all three of which were filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina. We’re the Millers is nominated for Best Female Performance (Jennifer Aniston), Breakthrough Performance (Will Poulter), Best Kiss (Emma Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, and Will Poulter), Best Comedic Performance (Jason Sudeikis), Best Shirtless Performance (Jennifer Aniston), and Best Musical Moment (Will Poulter singing “Waterfalls”).
