The North Carolina Department of Commerce announced on Friday that three upcoming film and TV productions are each recipients of funds from the state’s Film and Entertainment Grant program this year, including Dirty Dancing, Shots Fired, and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. The 1987 classic Dirty Dancing is coming to TV for a new reboot of the franchise, but the good news is that production is expected to return to the Lake Lure area of North Carolina, where the original movie was also filmed. The Wilmywood Daily reports that filming could begin as early as April 6 and run through May 28 in the Ashville area, with production offices opening in March.
