FX Comedy Pilot to Film in Wilmington, North Carolina

The FX network will film a new comedy pilot starring Michael Cera (Superbad, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) and John Hawkes (Eastbound and Down, The Sessions) in Wilmington, North Carolina this spring. Variety reported yesterday that the first episode of the new series How and Why from writer and producer Charlie Kaufman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Being John Malkovich) will shoot in Wilmington in the spring.

‘Tusk’ Director Kevin Smith Praises Charlotte Film Crew

‘Max Steel’ Movie Coming to North Carolina

Multiple sources have reported this month that Mattel’s big screen adaptation of their popular toy line and animated series Max Steel is set to open production offices in Wilmington, North Carolina in January, with filming to begin in February. It was announced back in September that Mattel would be teaming up with Dolphin Entertainment and Open Road Films to develop a live-action feature film based on the “Max Steel” character, to be written by Christopher Yost (Thor: The Dark World) and directed by Stewart Hendler (H+, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn).
