‘Paper Towns’ First Official Trailer, Poster Revealed

Filmed partially in and around Concord and Charlotte, North Carolina, the first official trailer for the romantic drama Paper Towns has come online today. 20th Century Fox has revealed the first trailer along with the above still for Paper Towns, based on the novel by The Fault in Our Stars author John Green and starring Nat Wolff and Cara Delevingne (pictured above). Kate Mara Will Be Taken ‘Captive’ This September

Kate Mara stars in 'Captive', filmed in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Filmed in and around Charlotte, North Carolina in late 2013, the true-story thriller Captive, starring David Oyelow (Selma) and Kate Mara (House of Cards, Fantastic Four), has been picked up by Paramount Pictures and now has a release date. Paramount Pictures acquired worldwide rights and will release the film, from director Jerry Jameson, on September 18, 2015, according to THR.

‘Under The Dome’ Season 3 Premiere Date, Cast Addition Revealed

The hit CBS drama Under the Dome, filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina, will return this June on a new night with at least one new cast member for Season 3. CBS announced last week that Season 3 of Under the Dome will kick off on the show’s new night, Tuesday, June 25, with a two-hour season premiere starting at 9pm, and will settle into its new Tuesday at 10pm slot on July 2.

‘Dirty Dancing’ TV Remake Returning To North Carolina

The 1987 classic Dirty Dancing is coming to TV for a new reboot of the franchise, but the good news is that production is expected to return to the Lake Lure area of North Carolina, where the original movie was also filmed. The Wilmywood Daily reports that filming could begin as early as April 6 and run through May 28 in the Ashville area, with production offices opening in March.

Zach Galifianakis Heist Comedy Renamed ‘Masterminds’

Filmed in Asheville, North Carolina this summer, the Zach Galifianakis “Armored Car Heist” movie has finally received its official name – Masterminds. Formerly titled Loomis Fargo the film tells the story of a real life robbery that took place in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1997, when David Scott Ghantt, the driver of a Loomis Fargo & Company armored car grabbed $17 million, stuck it in a company van, and drove off with the money, committing the third largest cash robbery in United States history at the time.
