‘Six’ Premiere Date Postponed

Filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina, the History Channel has postponed the premiere date of the upcoming miniseries Six, originally announced to begin airing this Monday, July 18.

We do not have a new release date or specific reason for the delay, as the official History Channel website has little information on the show and the North Carolina Film Office could only confirm the delay via a Facebook post today but offered no explanation. The teaser trailer that was posted to YouTube last month has also been removed.

We will let you know when you can see Six as soon as new release date is announced.

Following Navy SEAL Team Six, whose 2014 mission was to eliminate a Taliban leader in Afghanistan, their plan goes awry when they uncover a U.S. citizen working as a jihadist fighter with the terrorists.

The cast includes Barry Sloane (Revenge), Juan Pablo Raba (Narcos), Edwin Hodge (Chicago Fire), and Kyle Schmid (Copper). Walton Goggins (The Hateful Eight) rounds out the cast as a former troop chief captured by a militant group.

Six had filmed almost two of its eight-episode order when production was abruptly shut down for Manganiello to address an undisclosed health issue.

Manganiello’s scenes were reshot with Walton Goggins in the role of Rip Taggart, described as a gruff, haggard, and aggressive military man who was once the squad leader of Seal Team Six.

Written by William Broyles (Jarhead) and David Broyles, a military Special Operations veteran, and inspired by current events, Six — History’s second original scripted series after Vikings — follows a brotherhood of modern American warriors, Navy SEAL Team Six, whose 2014 mission to eliminate a Taliban leader in Afghanistan goes awry when they uncover a U.S. citizen working with the terrorists.

Six also stars Barry Sloane, along with Dominic Adams, Edwin Hodge, Kyle Schmid, Juan Pablo Raba, Nadine Velazquez, and Brianne Davis.
