A new production from writer-director Tony McNamara, is set to begin filming in the Charlotte, North Carolina area this month, starring Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler, Iron Man 2), Sarah Silverman (A Million Ways to Die in the West), and Emma Roberts (American Horror Story, Scream 4).
The comedy-drama Ashby follows the relationship between a high school student, to be played by Nat Wolff (The Fault in Our Stars), and a retired CIA assassin (Rourke) who only has months to live.
Principal photography will begin on June 16 in Charlotte, with filming scheduled to last for five weeks.
Roberts previously worked in North Carolina on last year’s hit comedy We’re the Millers, filmed in Wilmington.
